What are hand sanitizers?
Hand sanitizer :A liquid or gel, typically one containing alcohol, that is used to clean the hands and kill bacteria, viruses, and other diseases-causing agents on the skin.
Hand sanitizers are created for use after washing hands or for those occasions when soap and water are not accessible. They are gels with alcohol so as to destroy the germs present on the skin. The alcohol works quickly and adequately so as to eliminate microscopic organisms and most viruses.
Materials for making hand sanitizer
- 4 cups of isopropyl alcohol, also called rubbing alcohol.
- 1/4 cup household hydrogen peroxide(3%)
- 4 teaspoon glycerin
- 1 cup distilled water (or water that has been boiled and cooled)
- A clean plastic or glass container that can hold around 8 cups
Procedures for making hand sanitizer: - Wash your hands and keep germs out of the mix.
- Clean the container you’ll use to mix the sanitizer and any bottle you’ll store it in.
- Pour the isopropyl alcohol into the clean container.
- Mix in the hydrogen peroxide.It kills bacteria that can get into the bottles or the sanitizers as you make it.
- Add 4 teaspoon of glycerin. It helps protect your skin from drying out.
- Add 1 cup pls sterile water and mix together.
After mixing everything together then wait for 72 hours before you use the sanitizer.
