Member representing Ajaokuta federal constituency, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, has promised to engage in programs and projects that are people-oriented.

The lawmaker made this known while inaugurating the Ajaokuta Corporate Development Committee in Abuja on Tuesday.

The committee with Hon. Balogun Yusuf as Chairman and Dr. Sadiq Ibrahim Ogu as Secretary, also includes Barr. Enekola Obeh Sunday, Mal. Yusuf Sadiku Ozomata, Akaaba Abdullahi, Musa Yakubu, Abdulmalik Salihu, Musa Halilu, and Latifah Asipita Isah.

The lawmaker tasked them with assessing, evaluating, and recommending improvements in the relationship between corporate organizations within the constituency and the local community.

Their focus areas include employment, community corporate social responsibility, local content management, community solid mineral resources management, host community relations, and community development.

In his inauguration speech, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem emphasized the committee’s critical mission and the significance of the Ajaokuta project. He urged the members to approach their tasks with integrity, diligence, and commitment, engaging with all stakeholders to build stronger relationships between corporate entities and the community.

The Ajaokuta Federal Lawmaker also highlighted that the idea that birthed the Corporate Development Committee was an offshoot of the recommendations made by the Needs Assessment Committee.

He restated that his leadership will continue to indulge in people-oriented projects and programs as recommended by the Needs Assessment Committee, which went around the nooks and crannies of Ajaokuta LGA to gather all challenges bedevilling the entire LG.

Hon. Balogun Yusuf, the chairman of the committee, in his acceptance speech, expressed his gratitude and humility, acknowledging the trust vested in the committee. He pledged to lead the committee with transparency, integrity, and dedication, ensuring a comprehensive fact-finding report within three months.

He said the committee aims to ensure that the benefits of corporate presence in the constituency are maximized and equitably distributed. Adding that they will evaluate compliance with relevant laws, scrutinize host community regulations, and foster an environment of accountability and inclusivity.

Hon. Balogun Yusuf called upon all members of the Ajaokuta Federal Constituency to join hands with the committee in this noble endeavour, working together towards a future where resources are managed sustainably, communities flourish, and youths find meaningful employment opportunities.

“This inauguration marks a significant step towards driving development, enhancing operational excellence, and ensuring sustainable growth within the Ajaokuta Federal Constituency,” he said.
