Kogi State government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the renowned West African company, Solidaridad, to boost palm oil production in the state.

Significant part of their negotiations was centered on the renovated Acharu Palm Oil Mill.

This agreement reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to secure credible partners to manage the State’s enterprises after it has been handed over to the government by Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho).

A statement by Senator Isah’s media aide, Mikail Ibrahim, the administration is committed to putting in place the necessary machinery to attract investors to run these companies through collaboration with certified professionals in agribusiness.

“The model of small-scale companies utilizing local raw materials has proven successful in countries like India and South Korea. The government is optimistic that this partnership with Solidaridad will yield similar success in the State.

“All these were made possible, given the lawmaker’s rich background in investment banking with his resolve to give back to his people through constituency projects.

“We have said this on many occasions that the government is working hard to ensure balance negotiation with experience partners to run the companies,” he said.
