A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Women Like Esther Support Initiative (WLESI), a has called for more assistance and empowerment to women and the girl-child in order for them to fulfill their purpose-driven lives.
Mrs Blessing Makanjuola, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Women Like Esther Support Initiative (WLESI), Nigerian chapter, made the call on Monday during the official launch of the organisation in Ajaokuta, Kogi state, Nigeria.
Makanjuola regretted the situation whereby a lot of women in Nigeria are without hope due to their low economic power and lack of good footing in their various Communities.
The CEO said that there was need for government, corporate organisations and wealthy individuals to look at various means of helping women to stand tall in order to fulfill their God given purposes in life.
“This become imperative in view of the fact that many women out there, don’t have their footings. They don’t know their left and right and have lost hope. Life no longer have meaning to them.
“That’s why NGO like Women Like Esther Support Initiative have decided to take the Bull by the horns to connect women to their God given destiny directions.
“With the launch of WLESI today, we are out to gather women in order to chart the way forward in times like this. You can agree with me that the days and the times are hard and evil.
“Our aim is to gather women in Kogi, Nigeria and all over the world, to help chat a way forward for them to discover their purpose in life and to realize it.
“This is because If you’re a woman without a purpose, you don’t have a life to live. So we have come as an NGO to help women realize their purpose in life.
“Esther, in the Bible, was a child from no where, but she realized her purpose and she became a Queen and transformed destinies. That’s what women like esther support Initiative have come to do for women in Kogi and Nigeria and across the World,” she said.
According to her, “we are out to enable women to stand tall in whichever situation they found themselves in so that the problems of this world will not overwhelm or swallow them but they will contribute their quota in homes and nation building.”
She explained that WLESI would also encourage women to learn how to look up to God for help in prayers because “when women cry to God in prayers there’s hope for revival and salvation.”
“So we have come together as women to pray to our God for total change in our terrible situations in our families, states and nation.
“We intend to do this through workshops, seminars and town hall meetings where we can sensitise and train them as the Lord will empower us. We believe that when you build a woman you have built a nation,” she said.
Our Correspondent reports that the inaugural launch of the NGO saw the distribution of cash support to various indigent women including a mother of triplets, Hajiya Hadiza Muhammed, a jobless graduate.
