Hon. Leke Abejide, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kogi state, has commiserated with Kogites, especially the Ebira people, on the death of the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Dr. Ado Ibrahim.

Abejide described the late traditional ruler as “a royal father par excellence, who projected the royal stool with elegance and civilization with awe and dignity”.

According to him, with his exit, the people of Ebira land, Kogi State and Nigeria have lost a rare gem.

“A highly scholarly, pragmatic and dynamic monarch with undiluted love for all, courageous, fearless and humane, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land Alhaji Dr. Ado Ibrahim would be sorely missed by humanity for his contributions which would continue to speak for him eternally.

“A couple of times we have been to the Ohinoyi of Ebira and as a father he has given us prayers and maximum support. So, his death is a personal loss to me and very painful too that he won’t be around now to witness a new Kogi state and to share his rich experience.

“Death is an inevitable end of mankind and it will come at Allah’s appointed time for every individual. We take solace in the good works the Almighty Allah used the late Ohinoyi to do for humanity and the good name being left behind.
“I commiserate with the people of Ebira Land, all the traditional rulers and people of Kogi State, and the immediate and extended families of our highly revered Ohinoyi of Ebira with supplication to the Almighty Allah to accept him to His kingdom and grant all the fortitude to bear the loss,” Abejide said.
