Kogi @ 32: Okene Council Chairman Bags Nigerian Post Distinguished Service Award

As part of activities to mark the 32nd anniversary celebration of Kogi State creation, the Chairman of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad on Thursday in Lokoja became the first to be honoured with “Distinguish Service Award” in recognition of his outstanding contributions to grassroot development.

The Lecture and Award ceremony was put together by a veteran journalist, Mr Michael Abu, the publisher of The Nigerian Post Newspaper under the chairmanship of Alh. Abdulrazaq Idris Kutepa with the theme, “Kogi @ 32:  Sustaining Unity, Peace of The Confluence, This House Must Not Fall”.

After reading out the rich citation of the council chairman which includes his educational achievements, work experience, over two decades of his political journey and his unmatched contributions to grassroot development, Hon. Abdulrazaq consequently received the award of honour from the Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, who was ably represented by the Commissioner of Education, Hon. Wemi Jones.

Other recipients of the distinguish service award include, Kogi State Accountant General, Alh. Jibril Momoh, Director-General, Government House Administration, Alh. Umar Shaibu Oricha, Coordinator of Kogi ACReSAL Project, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, Vice- Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Prof. Marietu Tenuche, former Minister of FCT (State), Hajia Ramattu Tijani, Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Isah Taofeek among others.
