The phrase “see finish” in Nigerian pidgin English means to have seen it all to the extent of taking one for granted. In the context of love, it could mean that you have been with your partner for so long that you no longer appreciate them or put in the effort to make the relationship work. This can lead to the relationship becoming stale and eventually falling apart.
There is actually SEE FINISH in love. However, love is when you value your beloved after the ‘SEE FINISH.’ Now that you know all the corners to my heart, my weaknesses, insecurities and secrets, will you still love me? You can’t tell the extent to which someone loves you until they ‘SEE YOU FINISH.’
Some people are just attracted to you because of the mystery, once you are demystified, they leave. They want want the fire, the want smoke; the want the thrill of mystery. That’s not love; that’s chemical responses in the brain.
Some people will leave substance and be chasing shadows. I don’t know if you are familiar with that adage that says “a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush.
Dear reader, love is like a marathon, not a sprint. You can’t expect to finish a marathon if you don’t train properly. In the same way, you can’t expect to have a successful relationship if you don’t put in the work. It takes time, effort, and commitment to build a strong relationship, or a home.
So you are married or engaged to someone who adores you, who takes all your shit and still stands by you, loving you unconditionally with all your flaws without minding and just because one copper plaited somebody whom you mistake for gold is sweet talking you by the corner, you lose you. My friend, may we never be unfortunate.
However, to avoid “see finish” in love, it’s important to keep the energy alive. It’s also important to be patient and understanding, and to remember that love is a journey, not a destination.
