The recent Presidential and National Assembly elections in Kogi Central senatorial district has shown that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in the state do not enjoy maximum support of the people of the Ebiraland.
The results of the election all over the country indicates that the people’s vote is now counting as seen in Governors Ortom, Ayade, Ikpeazu and others all losing their senatorial election even as sitting Governors. Meaning if the people are disenchanted, they can vote you out.
My party winning the coming election is my concern and I do not see the present crop of Governorship aspirants from the Central, especially those from the cabinet, as capable of winning the confidence of the people of Ebiraland.
From the conduct of the recent elections, evidences abound to demonstrate the mistrust of the government officials from Kogi central, where they could not even win or deliver their polling units.
As a way out, Governor Yahaya Bello must mobilize alternative supports by coming down from his high horse and reaching out to the founding fathers of the party in Kogi central, the likes of Senator Ohiare, Hon Abdullahi Bello, Hon Sadiq of Ajaokuta, Major Hitler, Senator Ohize group, myself, and many others to rescue the messy situation.
His grave errors was in ostracizing these important politicians.
Worthy of note, we must pray against having the likes of Natasha in the two other senatorial districts before the governorship election.
She’s a dynamite and must be respected and used by any politician who need to win election of this nature. Like or hate her, she has enormous capacity and dexterity needed to win election. And with due respect to GYB, we don’t need to fight her.
Suffice to say the most viable option for us to win the state now is to rotate power to Kogi West where we presently enjoy maximum support of the people, and for equity and justice.
Finally, I must say the truth, if we must correct the inherent anomalies in our party administration in kogi state, GYB must come low to conquer!
