A socio-political group, Ebira To The World, has commended Senator Yakubu Oseni (Kogi Central/APC) for his contribution on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.
In a communique signed by the chairman, Comrade James Mohammed, the group said the senator’s vote against e-transmission of election votes was not for no reason, adding that the reasons were notably genuine.
Mohammed noted that the challenges Senator Oseni highlighted as his reasons were just a forecast of the challenges the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) later gave.
The Chairman of the group eulogized the senator to have subtly gave a sensitisation message, depicting his action at the red chamber, and educating Nigerians on the retrogressive effects of what the acclaimed process will pose on our elections if adopted for now.
The group recalled the statement of the senator, which he said “the NCC has to assure the house of its readiness to provide adequate network coverage across the nation, especially in the rural areas where there are predominant settlement of voters”, adding that the statement has been justified as the Executive Commissioner of the NCC, Adeleke Adewolu has come out to tell lawmakers at the House of Representatives that the NCC can not guarantee a 100 percent network coverage across the country before 2023 which may lead to disenfranchisement of good number of rural dwellers.
The group further commended the senator for always taking actions in favour of the masses.
