Chairman of Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Hon. Teina Abdulmalik has charged ministries, deployments and agencies (MDAs) of government in the state to comply with the provisions of the law establishing the security trust fund as regards their statutory contributions.

He gave the charge during trust fund’s 2021 budget defense at the finance conference hall in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

According to him, the non compliance and inability of some agencies to respond accordingly is of a disadvantage to the agency, stressing that the issue of security is everybody’s business.

He commended the local government councils for complying with Governor Yahaya Bello’s directive on 0.25 percent joint allocation and called on individuals, corporate bodies and international donors to contribute to the Fund, adding that the issue of security is paramount to the state government.

Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Alh Jimoh Muhammad enjoined all the affected agencies not to treat the issue of security with kid gloves, stating security is very important to every state and nations all over the world.

Alhaji Jimoh said, statutory contributions of one percent (1%) by all MDAs and 0.25 by local government councils is mandatory, considering the importance of security.

He appealed to the ministry and all appropriate agencies to collaborate with the Trust Fund to ensure strict compliance of the provisions.
