Yagba West: Oshaloto Partners Ajaokuta Steel Training Institute

The Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Security for Yagba West local government, Hon. Tade Oshaloto has called for concerted efforts to reduce the rate of unemployment in the society.

Oshaloto made this call on Thursday when he led stakeholders from Yagba West local government to Ajaokuta Steel Company.

He sought partnership with Ajaokuta Steel Institute to help equip youths in Yagba West with marketable vocational skills.

Oshaloto stated that unemployment is largely responsible for the surge in crime rate and insecurity hence the need to be proactive in addressing the challenge.

Speaking at the company’s site, Hon. Oshaloto said adopting preventive measure through special skills acquisition, creative and vocational training would enhance citizens productivity and self reliance.

He assured the stakeholders and the management of Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited of his determination and commitment to ensure that the partnership of Yagba West people with the steel company produce mutual benefits.

Director of Local Government for Yagba West, Mr. Oshagbemi Sunday commended Hon. Tade for his lofty ideas and creative initiatives which he has demonstrated since assumption of office.

He also eulogized the management of the steel coy for their understanding and cooperation with Yagba West LGA as it strives to add value to the lives of her citizens.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) state leader, Chief Gbenga Asagun, who was the first Executive Chairman of Yagba West Council, thanked the management of ASCL for the warmth reception and support to Yagba West people.

He specially thanked the SSA security for putting the interest of the people first.

Commenting on the importance of the exercise, Hon Aderonke Aro, member representing Yagba West constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, described the empowerment initiative of Hon. Tade as most effective and efficient way to go.

He urged the people not only to embrace the opportunities the program portends but continue to support the SSA.

Conducting the stakeholders round the complex and training facilities, the General Manager Engineering, Engr. Suru assured them of world class training facilities and qualified instructors.

He commended the stakeholders for their visit to have a first hand information and assessment of the steel company training institute, saying such sacrifices shows their love for good governance.
