A Non-Governmenal Organisation, Waves of Success Foundation has distributed hand sanitisers to some communities in Kogi State as part of efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Speaking during the exercise in Ejule, Ofu local government area of Kogi state, Executive Director of the Foundation, John Ocheja said the organisation has also commenced preventive sensitisation against the pandemic in the eastern part of the state.

The executive director noted that at least one million hand sanitisers would be distributed by the organisation in phases.

He said the gesture was aimed at complementing the ongoing efforts by the state and federal governments in preventing and controlling the spread of the virus.

He expressed the need for the general public especially those at the grassroots, to be hygiene conscious and follow the preventive measures and avoid contact.

“’The distribution of one million pieces of hand sanitisers is to complement both the state and federal governments’ effort in preventing and controlling the virus.

“The Government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is doing a lot but cannot do it all, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to carry the sensitisation campaign to the grassroots,” he said.

The executive director called on all well-meaning Nigerians to partner with government at all levels to halt the spread of virus.
