The Administrator of Kotonkarfe/Kogi local government council, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, has promised to improve the welfare of staff of the council to enhance their productivity.
The council boss made the promise when the newly elected officials of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Kotonkarfe chapter visited him at his residence on Monday.
He said his administration will ensure that things are done right in order to achieve the progress of the council.
“Welfare of staff is our responsibility. I urge all heads of department to always remember their staff on issues of welfare because whether we like it or not, it is in our hands.
“We are ready to work for the people and in the process, whenever we go astray, please call us to order and we will listen because together we stand and divided we fall,” he said.
The Administrator also said leadership position is ordained by the Almighty God to whom he please with. While welcoming the new NULGE administration, he tasked the chairman on fixing the house which he described as being in disarray and called on the winning executives to embrace their co-contestants in spite of their inability to make it during the struggles since they are fighting for same course.
Speaking earlier, the newly elected chairman, Comrade Muhammed Yakubu said they were at the Administrator’s residence to appreciate his efforts before, during and after the union elections which was adjudged as free, fair and credible.
He assured the Administrator of the Union’s harmonious working relation with aimed of recording success and in the best interest for both parties.
“You have started well. We need to commend your gallant efforts in re-positioning our Local Government. The peaceful coexistence of Kogi LG as enjoyed by populace is a classical example of a responsive government. We quickly need to also appreciate your kind gesture towards us. You are a good product that needs no advertisement”, the NULGE chairman maintained.
Comrade Muhammed Yakubu also pledged the union unalloyed support, loyalty and solidarity to the present administration.
Recall that Comr. Yakubu Muhammed is an Information officer in the council before his election as NULGE chairman.
