The member representing Yagba federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Elder Leke Abejide has called for sober reflection and prayers for divine intervention in charting and piloting the ship of the Nigerian state to the path of rectitude, development and advancement.
Abejide made the call in his 59th independence anniversary message signed by his special assistant on media and publicity, Abraham Ibukun Eunice.
He expressed hope that Nigeria will survive current national challenges.
“The state of the nation is not too good. Nigeria is at the crossroads being attacked by insurgencies, banditry and other national issues. Our nightmare will soon be over. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The nation will be transformed with a progressive and reactionary forces that need to be chartered by youths.
“I believe our frail democracy and national pride will be restored to our long suffering compatriots.
“I want to encourage our youths not to relent in their concerted efforts at working towards a better nation. I also implore them to shun all forms of violence and cultism. The youths are not only the fulcrum of the nation but also the backbone to attain a revolutionary Nigeria. It is quite clear that as leaders, we have to channel a course to change the economic situation of our dear country.
“I want to also urge all Nigerians to keep faith and to embrace the collective national interest of our country to build a strong, prosperous, decent society. Let us all live in peace and harmony to build a better country.
