House of Representatives member, representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Elder Leke Abejide has commenced the payment of WAEC fees and administrative charges that covers for 2019/2020 academic session.
The Leke Abejide Foundation begin assessment of all beneficiaries across the secondary schools in the three local governments areas of the Federal Constituency.
The Director General of the Leke Abejide Foundation, Hon. Shola Adebola Gaddafi made this known in Isanlu on Monday.
According to Adebola, the foundation is expected to visit all schools across the federal constituency to compile names and ascertain the number of eligible candidates to write the West African Examination Council(WAEC) for onward free registration.
He confirmed that the scheme started since last year and it will continue has promised because they are ready to set a pace in the aspect of education, agriculture and other human capacity building programs through the foundation. He also confirmed that the process has started and the team will not leave any school out at all cost.
“The scheme which will cut across both private and public schools across the constituency is in fulfilment of Hon. Leke Abejide campaign promise to ensure free, affordable and quality access to education across the Constituency.
“As part of his campaign promises before being elected, the payment of WAEC fees will last for four years of his tenure in office.
“Hon. Leke Abejide has placed so much priority on education while also working assiduously towards other constituency projects aimed at bringing the much needed development to Yagba land,” Adebola explained.
In a statement signed by Abejide’s special assistant on media, Abraham Ibukun Eunice, the Rep member’s gestures are aimed at encouraging Yagba students and will also serve as relief to parents who maybe having difficulty in payment of the exorbitant WAEC fees for their wards.
“Also, this is to lay good theoretical and practical foundations as regards education and other aspects that needs adequate development in Yagba.
To Hon. Leke Abejide who is the deputy Chairman, House Committee on Customs and Excise, the development of Yagba will not be taken for granted at any time.
“No doubt Hon. Leke Abejide is determined to keeping to all his Campaign promises for the benefit of all Yagba Constituents,” Abraham said.
