Kogi Guber: APGA Gov’ship Candidate Promises Liberation For The People

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sheik Ibrahim Jibril has assured Kogi citizens that his emergence as candidate to fly the flag of the party in the November 16, 2019 Governorship polls is the beginning of liberation for the people of the State.

He spoke at the party secretariat in Abuja immediately he was issued his certificate of return after emerging winner of the party’s direct primary that was conducted in the 21 local Government areas of the State.

He said, “have it on your minds that Kogi State would be liberated from the machinations of the devil as there would no longer be issue of non payment of salary. That will come to an end.”

He said his administration when he is voted in would devote major part of the resources of the State to building infrastructure that would form the base for his plan for massive internally generated revenue drive.

According to him, education which is the foundation for science and technological breakthrough would be pursued vigorously to ensure all sons and daughters of the State get quality education.

When it comes to infrastructure because he is a developer, he will his wealth of experience to ensure that the needed infrastructure that will make private investors to come in would be put in place.

“There would be House for all program in Kogi State. There will be free medical care for all the aged from the age of 65 and above. What kills our people mainly is Typhoid and malaria, we will ensure the health sector is turned around to take care of minor ailments as well as the major ones.”

On the issue of insecurity he promised he would tackled it head-on to ensure the State is free from kidnapping and all other vices which discourages investors from coming to the State.

When reminded that the State is running on deficit having been indebted to the tune of over N150b and how he will get the funds to execute free medical care and free education at the basic level he said the State has over 32 mineral deposits which he will use his experience to tap and generate revenue to achieve.

“There is a lot of illegal mining of the minerals going on in our State when we come in we would put enabling law in place to ensure that mining of such minerals is done to the greater benefit of the State.”

Sheik Jibril thanked the delegates for finding him worthy and urge chief Sanni Teidi to join hands with him to deliver the goods to Kogi people as he promised to run an all inclusive government.

The National chairman of the party Victor Oye indicated that his party will spring a surprise by winning the November 16th 2019 Kogi State Governorship election with its, candidate Sheik Ibrahim Jibril.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja shortly after the certificate of return was issued to the candidate of the party, Oye said Kogi election is winnable, adding that APGA was going to win.

“We are the only political party in Nigeria with a clear cut Ideology. I have always said that PDP and APC would soon fade out, APGA is the only political party with a clean bill of health.

“We won election all over Nigeria. We won three seats in the Benue State House of Assembly, we reclaim the Governorship seat in Anambra State, three members in the House of Assembly in Abia State, one House of representatives member from Abia, one from Taraba, five councillors in Niger State and two from Kaduna State.”

He reiterated the fact that Winning election in Kogi is doable adding that the reason is the fact that the people are disenchanted with the current administration in Kogi state as the Governor performed woefully and APGA is ready to take over the Governorship of that State.

He said the party will follow its manifesto which is a functional and pragmatic one.

“In Anambra State things are working well because our manifesto is at work there on the vision of the party in terms of development, security because is the moat secured State in Nigeria and we plan to replicate same in Kogi State infact we will reenact the template if development in Anambra State in Kogi State.

“So people of Kogi should be rest assured to reap the dividends of democracy under APGA government. The only thing for them to do is to get out of darkness and hop into light.”

The state chairman of APGA, Abdullahi Arikora congratulate Sheik and all party members with a promise to reconcile all differences as he urged the runner up to accept the result.

He urged Kogi electorate to vote APGA during the November election.

The chairman pointed out that the presentation of certificate has shown that there is light at the end of the tunnel for APGA and Kogi State as they are set to take over Lugard House in Lokoja.

“The two so called majority party have failed the people adding that the election will not be easy but that they would surmount it all.

“We are good to go as we have elected a good and undefeatable candidate. We will shock the world come November 16, 2019.”

He said the candidate that lost to Sheik is like a father saying it is a win win for the party.

The candidate, Sheik Jibril polled 15, 217 to defeat Chief Sanni Teidi who polled 14, 997.

Sheik Jibril was declared winner by the  APGA Guber primary returning officer, Barrister Steve Nwoga.
