Did I Forgot? No, Congratulations Sir!
Mid last week, the social media was agog, especially in Kogi State, after the news of Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila announcing the House of Representatives standing committees. It was a special night, and not only because of the announcement but for the fact that my very own man, Halims is made a committee Chair.
The man is the one who treats me like his own biological son. I can’t remember how he became my political leader but I still remember the day he told me he was going to contest the 2019 elections and to win or win.
I opined he throw his shot at the Kogi East Senate and he explained to me the implications of contesting for Senate, buttressing on it to say he is contesting the House of Representatives “to either win or win” and I smiled like you would.
His confidence and dignifying appeal to me against the Senatorial proposal was something still fresh on my mind. With a voice as clam as Enya’s blues, words with suavity likeable to the biblical Songs of Solomon and points reasonable enough for anyone to submit himself to such convincing appeal if no hidden agenda is attached, he spoke and I agreed with him praying we win in the general election.
It was in trying to think over his resolve that an idea came into me and that idea birthed the article – “Hon Halims; The Defined ‘Alternative’ For Ankpa Federal Constituency” which was published in different main stream media including but not limited to Kogi Reports, The Nigerian Post, Graphic Newspaper etc.

Days after the publications, I was shocked how the article have gone viral, sparked jittery, garnered sympathy, wakened supporters and opened the journey of Capacity Building, Hon Halims’ campaign slogan in the 2019 electioneering that saw him to the Federal House of Representatives today.
As a divine confirmation of this victorious reality, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims was by the grace of God appointed as Chairman of the House Committee on Mines and Steel Development whilst scaling membership of Oil, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and others. This is the opener of dividends to our people and God willing, robust legislation that shall attract effective representation awaits all of us.
So, congratulations to my General Officer Commanding (GOC) in this political dispensation and may God continue to support you with the zeal, strength, networks and vision to move Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro federal constituency to a Next Level indeed.
