The Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Kogi State Chapter, Alhaji Taufiq Isa has called on the people of the state to disregard the rumors making the round that Administrators, Directors of Local Government and Treasurers have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

Alhaji Taufiq made this known while speaking with newsmen, on Wednesday, in a reaction to the issue of autonomy granted to local government areas of the state.

He said the state governor, Yahaya Bello has directed the full compliance and implementation of autonomy in the state.

The ALGON Chairman and Administrator of Ijumu LGA denied the rumors making the round that some Administrators, DLGs and Treasurers are in the custody of the EFCC and ICPC.

The Administrator said ALGON is not aware of the invitation by EFCC or arrest of any official of the Kogi State. He described the speculation as nothing but fallacy.

The ALGON Chairman called on workers in the twenty one local government areas to be patient as the governor has already directed the immediate payment of full salaries in accordance to the autonomy, adding that the payment would soon commence.
