Smart Adeyemi’s Campaign Convoy Survives Second Auto Crash in Five Days

Barely five days after the campaign train of Senator Smart Adeyemi experienced a motor accident, the campaign convoy was again on Monday involved in another auto crash.

While last week Thursday accident occurred while the senator was leaving Lokoja for Obajana road, this time it was along Lokoja – Abuja road.

The senator was embarking on a journey to Girinyan in Kogi local government area of the state in continuation of his campaign for the February 16 general election.

It was gathered, from a source, that the escort vehicle of the campaign train experienced a burst tyre and veered off its lane, facing an oncoming trailer from the Abuja side.

The source said it was a complete miracle for the escort hilux van to escape from being hit by the trailer but somersaulted severally into the near bush.

According to the source, it took the efforts of men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to rescue the occupants of the escort vehicle from the bush.

The vehicle carrying the personal assistant to the former senator, three other civilians and some police officers was seriously damaged.

The last week Thursday accident involved the senator’s pilot vehicle and his coastal bus conveying 32 of his supporters.

The escort van driver and other occupants are however said to be in stable condition.
