In a saner clime, people like Omachi Isaac Achor ought to have hidden their tail between their legs. For a man who is as guilty as the accused to judge another sinner of his kind calls for questioning of his morality and insult on our collective intelligence as a people.
Achor, in his desperate attempt to get a particular candidate to get the PDP senatorial ticket whipped up different divisive sentiments to drive home their inordinate ambition.
One of such sentiments was the agitation for the “Ofu Turn or Idah Federal Constituency Turn”. This phrase seek to murder competency and capacity on the alter of greed, by fire by force quest for power and sectionalism. This sentiment which does not consider the capacities of the various candidates is aimed at taking our district one step forward and ten steps backward.
This particular action has made the accuser guilty of the same offense he’s alleging one Mudi Shehu to have committed.
To the consternation of all the well meaning people, the said post can’t be found on the wall of the popular Shehu Mudi, how are we sure that a man as sentimental and desperate as Achor and his principal wouldn’t put up such post on a cloned account of Mr. Mudi to drive home their braggadocios ambition given the facts that their quest for the senatorial job is premised on sentiments of “it is our turn” and not on the basis of capacity and competency?
The Eastern people of the Niger has never been divided along religious line in our chequered history as Igala-Bassa. There’s virtually no extended family in either Igala or Bassa land that have no Muslims and Christians living together harmoniously.
Families abound in our lands that the both parents are of different faith yet peace and love permeate the families, so, what does Achor rejoinder seeks to achieve?
This divisive efforts at whipping religious sympathy for his preferred candidate is dead on arrival because our people are wiser and won’t be deceived to voting a wrong candidate.
Recall that this divisive group had once accused ECHOCHO as being a religious fanatic. Clearly, the failure of that is probably the undercurrent reason for this disguise rejoinder by Achor. Fortunately, we are wise to understand that half a dozen and six are the same.
For the author of the rejoinder to have alleged that all APC House of Representatives candidates from Kogi East are Muslims, clearly portrays him as the author behind the fake Mudi Shehu post because Omachi cannot claim to be oblivious of the fact that the APC House of Representatives candidate for Idah Federal Constituency in person of Hon. David Zachariah is a Christian. I dare ask the author where’s your morality and sincerity?
We wish to state unequivocally that the ambition of Jibrin Isah Echocho is not one pursued on religious, sectional or any other divisive sentiments and we will never condone or encourage such moves.
Echocho seek to bring the legislative business to the people, attract development and unite the Igala-Bassa people as one, bring the dividends of democracy to the people, provide responsible and responsive representation at the National Assembly.
We therefore call on our brothers and sisters on the other side to desist from this attempt at dividing our people along whatever line just for political reasons. Elections come once only in four years but the effect of division lives on forever just like wildfire; it is easy to start but difficult if not impossible to quench.
Omachi Isaac Achor should be advised to desist from dividing our people. The Igala-Bassa people are one, irrespective of their religion or other division as it is demonstrated in our harmonious coexistence over the centuries.
