You think Gov. Yahaya Bello is the reason why you’re not progressing yet?
You think he is the reason your parents are languishing in abject poverty and you’re unable to care for them?
So you take to aggressive campaigns against him on Social Media. You tag yourself “advocate of Good Governance”, you apend the signature of “Comrade” to imply your belonging to social and political struggles; you begin to curse him daily. You are probably jobless. So the luxury of time for you is available. You curse and harangue until politicians who also seek to take over power begins to notice you.
They buy you data. Send you narratives to cripple his government. They begin to hail you.
All of you say you’re sending him away from Lugard House im 2019.
Because the only development everyone has known in Kogi all the while which gives the reason why your life is miserable without civil service being active as before even when they are other areas of the economy is “salary”.
You then begin to say he has done so well but only “salary” payment. So you will remove him because of salaries. You want a salary paying Governor. You want what you’ve always had.
So you’ve spent 4 years lamenting and hoping your activism changes Bello.
Bello goes into elections because he is the only one planning while others are holding foreign meetings and banking on the premise that everyone hates Bello.
Bello wins.
He wins because elections are not based on social media opinions, propaganda and a drive of colorative hate. Because it is not possible that even if many people are not benefiting from his government, some people are not benefiting. But you thought he was alone.
You’ve spent 4 years lamenting for nothing.
No job. No career drive. The only experience you’ve had is “social media activism”.
Nothing you’ve added to the lot of your parents. You have only wailed for 4 years.
Because he returns to office again, you return your activism of “Good Governance”.
4 starts counting into 5. You starting thinking after his 8 years, you would install another Governor or your “fondness”.
So that one comes. Meets the same problem Bello met, probably something that has compiled for many years from mediocrity.
So the governor of your choice falls into the same challenge pitfall.
You resume your activism of good governance. No job. Nothing serious with your life except “political hustling”.
And so we are counting 12 years now because you think Government is your problem.
Whilst you are at it, your mates who delved into something small, have become “big”.
Your mates who went somewhere else to look for a fertile land to toil are returning with cars, houses and successes.
Then you begin to explain Governance to them, you begin to analyze every name of small and big politicians, in a bid to show you know “things” more them.
They know success and progress more than you. But you are the “Comrade”.
At Anyigba, Ankpa, Okene, Olamaboro, Kabba , Bassa and Ibaji, you find these comrades littered about.
They know all the politicians but progress don’t know their names.
Government is their problem because it is the only industry they understand.
Kogi Rebel can only feel a house of pity for these ones.
