The Chairman Kogi State Traditional Council and the Attah of Igala, His Royal Majesty Michael Ameh Oboni II has called on government at all level to accord maximum support to the Youths Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO) in her drive to attend to and care for the poor and vulnerable people in the society.
The Royal father who affirmed that YESSO activities is a service to humanity maintained that the components of YESSO being implemented in the state so far have visibly made several poor people especially the youths self reliant.
He made the call while receiving in audience management and staff of Kogi State YESSO at his palace in Idah on Friday.
The Attah encouraged the YESSO Team to sustain the tempo of her operation within the state and prayed God to reward the team for their service to humanity.
Earlier in his address to the Attah, the State Coordinator of YESSO, Dr. Noah Alilu, proudly informed the royal father that Kogi State YESSO as attained the status of role model for other States to emulate.
He stated that the Single Register (SR) of the poor and vulnerable people built by his project is being adjudged as the best by the World Bank.
Dr. Noah noted that several poor households within the state are currently benefiting from the Conditional Cash Transfer program of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as a direct result of their socioeconomic conditions as captured in the Register.
He added that no fewer than 4000 youths across the state are currently benefiting for the Public Warfare Component of YESSO with 7000 other youths being enrolled into the Skill for Job Development (S4J) of the project.
Dr Noah, who extolled the robust nature of the Single Register (SR) built by his office, said the World Bank and the federal government are very proud of Kogi SR so much that they are set to showcase it as a template to a delegation from Democratic Republic of Congo to understudy the process of building the Register for her social investment program.
