With the arrogant posture of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the burning issue of who picks the party ticket for Kogi East senatorial race, it has become easy to predict the outcome of 2019 general elections.

The criminal decision to foist Atai Aidoko on the people of Kogi East as nailed the coffin of PDP in the senatorial district.

Without much stress, it is easy to forecast that Kogi Senate election will be a straight fight between the candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji and the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Jibrin Isa Echocho. One of these two candidates will emerge winner while the other will come second. This is an incontrovertible fact.

The candidate of Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA), Comrade Amade Edime is expected to put up a strong showing at the polls. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) will also make impact.

All these four will poll more votes than PDP’s Atai Aidoko on a good day.

There is no way Aidoko can mop up more votes than ADC, APC, SDP and APDA in Kogi East!

Aidoko is well known failure and no credible politician will associate with him. He is a political leper. His sixteen years representation at the House of Representatives and Senate has been a huge waste. We wonder why PDP gave him her ticket in the first place. What were thinking about?

The total rejection of Atai Aidoko reverberates from his village in Ugbamaka to the entire Kogi East. No patriotic voter in Kogi East will vote for Atai Aidoko. It is a consensus that a vote for Aidoko will consign Igala/Bassa nation to yet another four years of perpetual retrogression.

Unfortunately for PDP, the senate election will hold same day as Presidential election. There is no way the total rejection of Atai Aidoko will not affect PDP presidential candidate, Atiku.

In the meantime, I will like to sound a note of warning to the senatorial candidates of ADC, APC, SDP and APDA to normalize their primary election processes. There must be no loose ends! Atai Aidoko and his promoters in PDP know he can not win the forthcoming senate election but will approach the courts, as usual, to steal their mandate through the back door. He will attempt to review the selection process within these parties with a view to rob the eventual winner of his mandate. Don’t sleep with two eyes open!
