Group Lauds Gov. Bello Over Percentage Raise of Kogi LG Workers’ Salaries

Hon. Abdulluahi Abdulganiyu, the Coordinator of the White Lion Family (WLF) in Kogi, has commended Gov. Yahaya Bello for the decision of the State Government to increase the monthly percentage salary of LG workers from 30 per cent to 54 per cent with effect from September 2018.
A statement signed by Abdulganiyu and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday, applauded the governor for listening to the agitation of the Local Government workers across the state as regard the issues of their salaries.
Recall that the state chapters of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) had in a statement on Sunday commended the state government for the same gesture.
The statement said that the decision to raise the bar was commendable and urged the government to take cognizance of the percentages of salary yet to be paid.
The White Lion Family’ Coordinator, said that the governor had once again proved his determination to alleviate the suffering of the people of Kogi state especially the local government workers at the grassroots.
“We, as a people under the White Lion Family, joined the various unions’ executives of all the Local Government workers in Kogi State to express our heartfelt gratitude to our governor for the kind gesture.
“We are calling on the LG workers to reciprocate the gesture by giving their total support to the APC Government in the state under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, to ensure the party’s victory in the 2019 general elections.
“We must ensure that GYB and PMB are re-elected for the second term for the duo to be able to consolidate on their good works which they have started for the benefits of the people of Kogi and Nigeria at large,” Abdulganiyu said.
The coordinator, therefore, reiterated the commitment of the group to continue to mobilise support for the governor at the grassroots level in all the local government areas across the state.
Abdulganiyu further commended Gov. Bello, for his effort in making sure that the lives and property of the people of Kogi state are well secured through maximum security that has been put in place by his Administration.
The coordinator also praised the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja, for his unflinching support for the government and for his commitment to the unity and progress of the party across the state.
“We want to also specially appreciate Chief Edward Onoja for his support for the White Lion Family and for creating the enable environment for our group to continue garner peoples support for the party. We are grateful,” Abdulganiyu said.
It would be recalled that Abdulganiyu, who was one of the aspirants contesting for Yagba Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, had recently withdrawn from the race, to be able to mobilise support for the party at the local government level.
