Supporters of Senator Dino Melaye in Asuta ward of Kabba/Bunu Local government of Kogi state were today led back to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), By Comrade Gideon Ayodele and the woman leader, Mrs Felicia Bolaji in a grand style.
Addressing the crowd at the occasion, Comrade Gideon Ayodele said that contrary to the way it was presented as decampees, “we are returnees simply because we have only gone on a sojourn and we are returning home. When you go on a sourjourn and the place is not profitable, it is reasonable to return back home”.
The Asuta ward Chairman, Chief Oyinbo in his opening address said that the party especially in the ward was very happy to receive the Senator Dino Melaye’s faithful loyalists from APC back to PDP their original base.
He however acknowledged the support of notable leaders in the Local government, such as Dr. Stephen Olorunfemi, Prof. Matthew Ajibero, Hon. Segun Ogbonikan, the local government party Chairman, Hon. J. J. Abenirin for the reception.
He described the return of the new returnees as the beginning of a new dawn in the ward as all the returnees were very active while in the party and believe that their return will further enhance the performance of the party in the ward.
He assured the returnees of equal opportunity and privileges as they will be given equal treatment and are free to vie for any position as bonafide members of the party.
The Kabba/Bunu PDP Chairman. Hon. Abejirin in his goodwill message said that their is great assurance that PDP is coming strongly in the local government.
In his words, Hon Abejirin said: “the train is moving fast and everyone needs to catch up fast as we are sailing to victory. We are heading for the promise land and never to return to Egypt.”
Also in the attendance are all the entire Kabba Bunu PDP excos, the various ward excos, leaders and elders of PDP in Kabba/Bunu.
