The Kogi State Community Development Agency yesterday said that the World Bank had approved 62 micro projects for rural communities in the state for 2018.
The General Manager of the agency, Dauda Momoh disclosed this in Lokoja at a one-day sensitisation training for local government administrators, directors of local governments, treasurers and community development officers from seven focal LGAs.
He said the projects, which cut across areas such as education, building of clinics, access roads, provision of potable water and electricity, amongst others, were aimed at touching lives and giving hope to the poor people at the grassroots.
According to him, the state government paid its counterpart contribution of N100 million to be able to benefit from the World Bank’s micro projects intervention; while each benefiting community is expected to pay 10 percent of the total cost of projects to be carried out in their areas.
He solicited the supports of the local government administrators and other stakeholders for the projects’ success.
