The Okun Legacy Front has decried the non-implementation of the approval order given by Gov. Yahaya Bello when he visited the College of Education Technical Kabba, permanent site.
In a statement signed by President of the group, Shola Olaleye, lamented a situation where the governor’s directive which led to an approval for the appointment of fifty teaching staff is yet to be implemented.
The group lamented a situation where other Tertiary institutions in the state like College of Nursing and Midwifery Obangede,  Kogi State University Anyigba have since implemented the governor’s approval to employ staff.
The Okun Legacy Front said the case of College of Education Technical has become more pathetic owing to the fact that the present Provost, Sola Jagboro, for fear of stepping on banana peel following what is perceived in some quarters within the college community as her wrong appointment because of her nursing background is not seen to be pushful on the matter.
Similarly, the group decried the fact that the Council Chairman, Prof Bala Emmanuel is also not helping to effect the appointment for fear that his choice of a Registrar for the College may not fly.
Okun Legacy Front said it is worried that the non confirmation of the Principal Officers for the College into substantive position and the non implementation of new officers has negatively impacted on the development of the College. They appealed to Gov. Yahaya Bello to confirm the officers who are in acting capacity if the financial implication for appointing new principal officers may constitute a burden.
Okun Legacy Front in the statement bemoaned a situation in which the development of the College has since been arrested due to the non implementation of the governor’s directive.
They called for Governor Bello’s urgent intervention for peace and tranquility in the college community to be sustained.
