Kogi lawmaker, Hon. Alfa Momoh Rabiu of Ankpa 2 state constituency has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for Signing into law the “Fourth Alteration Bill that grants financial autonomy to State Judiciaries and House of Assemblies”.
The lawmaker who reacted in Lokoja noted that indeed president Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian eight National Assembly has made history noting that the presidential assent shall deepen democracy and in turn create enabling work frame for better development across the various constituencies.
It will be recalled that according to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant(SSA) to the President on National Assembly Matters on Friday, “the amounts standing to the credit of the Houses of Assembly of the respective states are now to be paid directly to the Houses of Assembly of that state for the benefit of the legislators and the management of the States Houses of Assembly.”
The Kogi lawmaker later appealed to members of state assemblies not to abuse the amended act when implemented but rather take advantage of it and impact on the masses on whose will they ride to power.
