Kogi state was officially created in 1991 after years of struggles for the creation of the state. Some of the five current local governments in Kogi central were part of the local government, under the old Kwara state, that produced a Governor years back.
Senator Ahmed Salawo Ogembe joined active politics in 2006 and his coming witnessed all sort of violent, physical confrontations.
Senator Ogembe’s immediate family members and clan received over 60% of the total damages because of him.
Obehira community was brutally destroyed by those they fought against alongside some of the insiders who claimed to be original Ozi Eyire then.
Many people lost their lives and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed after the violent confrontations.
The then Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Wada Idris honoured Senator Ahmed Ogembe with the position of Okene local government Liaison Officer (LO) with some others as Committee members to work with him.
Sen Ahmed Ogembe was LO and later Okene council real chairman but far from being the best his immediate supporters and his immediate community, including myself, prayed for.
Sen Ahmed Ogembe performed below our expectations and all the affected houses and individuals in the crises were not considered or compensated by Sen Ahmed Ogembe when he was Okene LO and later Okene elected Chairman.
During Alh Abubakar Karaku’s regimes as caretaker and elected chairman, there was serious crisis in all the eleven wards of Okene local government. Alh Karaku tried his possible best and as well granted amnesty to some of the interested boys whose interest was to submit their weapons for peace to reign.
His immediate family members and clan were greatly favoured financially because both of them witnessed over 80% of the total destruction during the crises.
Alh Karaku single-handedly, after the crises, produced eleven councillors, one House of Reps member,
two House of Assembly members and got many political appointments from state government.
Today take it or leave it, many Oziogu level-headed individuals, those who witnessed the crises and beneficiaries are still celebrating Alh Karaku for being there when he was needed most to rescue his people and his party.
Before Sen Ahmed Ogembe joined active politics, he was a good man whose interest was to make his people happy no matter the risk but completely changed when he was honoured with position.
When Sen Ahmed Ogembe became LO and later chairman of Okene council, for some years and months, I expected him to constitute committee members from the eleven wards to look into the remote causes of crises and as make recommendations for the affected ones’ compensations.
Believe me or go into investigation to know whether I am not speaking the hidden truths about Sen Ahmed Ogembe.
Those still supporting Sen Ahmed Ogembe now in his immediate community are supporting him because they are sharing the same clan.
Sen Ahmed Ogembe is one politician his followers cannot predict because of his ways of politics. He is always not ready to believe any of his followers can handle his assignment on his behalf.
Sen Ahmed Ogembe became Senator as a result of secret collective works to make him Senator unknown to many.
It is always heard to talk about Sen Salawo Ogembe becoming Senator without late Sen Salihu Ohize because he was the one who first complained about the conduct of his then party’s primary and later his complain was used against APC.
In the re-run election that brought Sen Ahmed Ogembe, unknown to many, there were secret supports by the state government with inner intention of Sen Ahmed Ogembe crossing over after his victory at the poll.
Sen Ahmed Ogembe changed his initial arrangement with the then friend after his victory for many reasons; one, after his victory, he went into discussion with top PDP officials and he was assured of total control of Kogi central PDP.
Secondly, Sen Ahmed Ogembe checked his chance of him winning Senatorial primary of the party he promised to decamp to after his victory to be a very slim one.
Senaator Ahmed Ogembe was already recognized as Kogi Central PDP leader, so leaving the party he was already having 80% control over was an impossible decision to take.
Some of Sen Ahmed Ogembe die heart supporters, including myself, felt disappointed over his neglect on us after his victories. We all collectively suffered for it and many of us were preparing to vote him out if he finally use his snatched party materials to win PDP Senatorial primary come 2019 Insha Allah.
The crises in Kogi central PDP was enough to confront Sen Ahmed Ogembe with. Why disturbing his 5k women empowerment programme knowing fully well that he, Senator Ahmed Ogembe was not 100% with the remaining PDP supporters in Kogi central.
I want to publicly blame the three Administrators in Kogi central namely; Okene, Adavi and Okehi local governments for their inabilities to provide the needed security because they were officially notified of the programme that day because at the end, the selected beneficiaries blamed the attackers for not allowing them to receive their 5k or 20k empowerment from Sen Ahmed Ogembe.
The Administrator of Okene Alh. Muhammad Razaq cannot tell me he was not aware of the cooked story on social media after the attack that the boys were protesting because of what Sen Ahmed Ogembe did when he was Okene council chairman.
I, Comrade S. A. Omuya am still card carrying member of PDP but presently far from one of those attending the party’s gatherings because I am still very hurt over the treatments myself and family members received after all PDP victories in Abuga-Ozuja ward, Okene, Kogi state and Nigeria at large.
My late father, Mr Salawu Ozi Oyibo was not a politician but because of me, he supported PDP to the core but at the end, when he died many of those he voted for failed to pay his family members he left behind condolence visit. So, tell me why I should be with such party.
Senator Ahmed Ogembe shamelessly went to NASS to complain about the attacks on his planned programme as if he was there when the aggrieved boys stormed the venue.
Senator Ahmed Ogembe was on his way coming from Ohinoyi’s palace when somebody called and informed him of what happened at the venue of the empowerment.
When Sen. Ahmed Ogembe narrated the fake story he did not physically witness before Nigerian present law breakers, some of the enemies of Kogi State present government started pointing accusing fingers at their perceived enemy because of Sen. Dino Melaye.
I thank God for his quick interventions in the crises and today the brainless individuals used are presently facing what they invited in court.
I want to sincerely call on those calling for physical confrontations violently to refrain from such because what they don’t know is always ahead of them no matter how small.
I was one of those in Ebiraland who witnessed the violent political confrontations in Ebiraland three years and I am very sure some family members of those calling for war now knows nothing about what we witnessed in Ebiraland years back.
What happened in Ebiraland politically was a very terrible one which no reasonable individual from Ebiraland, who witnessed it, will pray to witness again. So, all hands must be on necks to avoid a repeat of our past.
Kudos to Engr. Abubakar Ohere and his level-headed members who immediately went into reconciliatory moves to quench the crises secretly with financial compensations to some of the affected individuals.
Sen Ahmed Ogembe can use the whole PDP materials in his possession to win PDP primary but he should as well not forget party primaries is just one step out of many steps to win election in Nigeria.
I urges all Gov Bello’s supporters at home and away from home to search for new, better ways of wnining Gov Bello’s attention far from their present style because political positions has duration, no matter how sweet.
They must stop attacking critics and perceived Gov Bello’s oppositions and political enemies to lodge or pledge their loyalty to the Governor because such styles are no longer needed to win election in Nigeria. Mr Jonathan and his foot soldiers are my witnesses because before 2015 General election, Mr Jonathan men were every where attacking Mr Jonathan’s perceived enemies and at the end what happened to him?
Gov Bello, please pay cleared workers because this is the only area I am not comfortable with your government.
Gov Bello sir, I recently met with some of the workers in Kogi state after I got a message from someone that their salaries has been paid and your excellency sir, the first person I met showed me his last payment alert and what I saw was 9k instead of 90k.
Please sir, do the needful because of God no matter how hard if really you mean well for Kogites.
Gov Bello sir, publicly declare you are not receiving allocation from FG again so that myself and some other interested Kogites can stage a peaceful protest to make the general public and Kogi workers know you are not their problem.
I urge those with intentions of defending Senator Ahmed Ogembe to counter all my points with touchable facts before insulting me because what we don’t know is always ahead of us no matter how small.
Com S A Omuya is fully with the most high God so evil people, plan less to avoid receiving the other side of God negatively.
God bless Nigeria.
– Comrade S. A. Omuya
