Senator Atai Aidoko Ali has threatened to institute legal action against Kogi State government if it goes ahead to establish cattle colonies in Kogi East.
Aidoko dropped the threat at a one-day Kogi East stakeholders meeting in Abuja.
The Senator said he convened the stakeholders meeting to proffer solutions to incessant herdsmen attacks, proposed cattle colonies and others challenges facing the people of Kogi East.
He berated the display wanton arrogance and enforcing of unpopular policies and programs on the people under the guise of mediation and addressing security challenges.
“You don’t create problems in the process of wanting to solve problems. The Kogi state government is playing politics with peoples’ lives.
“The state government ‎has perpetrated anti-people policies in great magnitude, there will be no going back if the situation persists.
“We are putting heads together with our lawyers to fine tune our strategies and approach without fear or threat from anybody, no matter how highly ‎placed, to rescue the Igala/Bassa race from the proposed satanic policy,” he said.
He said greater numbers of ‎state governors has backed out of the cattle colony policy having realised that it is alien to the people and wondered why Kogi situation is different.
