President Buhari to Commission Diagnostic Centre in Kogi

President Muhammadu Buhari will commission the Confluence Advanced Medical Diagnostic and Imaging Centre, Lokoja on January 27, 2018 to commemorate Governor Yahaya Bello’s second year in office.
According to the state Commissioner of Health, Dr Saka Haruna Audu, the construction works and equipment installation are progressing steadily at diagnostic centre and will be ready for commissioning by the President next month.
The Commissioner announced that conspicuous projects in the health sector are been embarked upon by the Governor Yahaya Bello administration. He noted that these projects are evenly distributed across the State.
“10 hospitals across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State are currently undergoing ultramodern facility upgrade, including the expansion of Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja from 100-bed to 500-bed hospital.
“Three new general hospitals are under construction in the three local government areas that does not have existing general hospitals. These include Ijumu, Adavi and Ajaokuta LGAs.
“About 12 primary health centres (PHCs) have been selected, renovated/remodeled and designated for the commencement of #HealthcarePlus program of Governor Yahaya Bello, to deliver free maternal and neonatal health care to the great people of Kogi State.
“Furthermore, about 24 other PHCs are also receiving attention and works are at various stages of completion with some already completed, courtesy of Kogi State SDGs office.
“Similarly, 8 Cottage Hospitals are also being renovated and remodeled,” he said.
