A political pressure group, South-East Yagba MultiParty Forum, has declared that there is no going back on their demand for the Yagba Federal constituency House of Representatives seat in 2019.
In a communique issued and signed by Engineer Ayo Osatoba at the end of the Forum’s meeting yesterday, the group noted that demanded that all political parties participating in the 2019 election must field their kinsmen as their House of Reps candidates as it’s their turn based on the political zoning arrangement.
The Forum’s meeting had in attendance leaders from different political parties, retired and serving public officials, opinion moulders, market women and youth leaders. A five-man committee was inaugurated to ensure the zone clinch the reps slot.
The communiqué reads apart, “The second joint meeting of political parties and opinion moulders of South-East Yagba was successfully held today under the co-leadership of Alhaji Isa Adeboye, the first Yagba LGA chairman and Hon Ayo Benjamin, former SCSC at Jege.
“Rising from the meeting, it was resolved that re-affirmation of the desire of the district to encourage her political gladiators to honestly vie for House of Representatives in all the parties without prejudice to any individual interested in the Senate slot.
“All members of viable political parties must lobby for the zoning of Lower Chamber of National Assembly to South-East Yagba, while the credential of each aspirant will speak for him or herself.
“A five man committee was set up to plan for an elaborate large meeting against December where far reaching political decisions that will be binding on the political class will be taken.”
The forum cautioned against any form of political violence in the district, saying political thuggery will be resisted.
