Good Morning All,
I also have this unresisting thought about the elders in mind that our elders in Ajaka been in total blackout for over five days now should be a thing of concern to every sympathetic minds owing to the high level of maintenance accrued tolerance and silence.
The investigations revealed so far had it that, the disconnection of Ajaka, the headquarters of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State from the National Grid was a deliberate sins of few individuals allegedly hiding under a canopy of a Non-governmental association of elderly people inhabitating in the area named “Igalamela Community Development Association”, against the majority, they personally without the prior notification, negotiations and majority approval of the masses imposed returns of a certain amounts of money from the monthly payments of Bills made by the electricity consumers of Ajaka and its neighboring beneficial communities, to the officials of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company operating in the area.
Henceforth, we the concerned citizens are peacefully demanding a convincing explanations from both the electricity generation body AEDC and the elders to below effect :-
(1) Why should the citizens should pay more than consumption?
(2) Why should the people of a meter-less mid-remote community like Ajaka with just four (4) but three (3) fully operational electrical transformers be paying above tripled of what the people of a bit larger neighboring Idah local government are paying as “bill” ?
(3) On what lawful basis or relationship are the elders demanding returns from the officials of AEDC, or have they been newly constituted by the local government administration under the superintendency of Joseph Baron Okwoli as a revenue generating body of the local government ?
Please, my families, friends, neighbors and concerns Youths of the area are pleading with both of the parties involved to settle amicably and do the needful as soon as possible, before it gets late.
