The Sports Department of Tao FM, the only privately owned radio station in the central senatorial district of Kogi State, has concluded plans to host a chess competition in Okene.
The board game has been scheduled to hold on Saturday 2nd September, 2017 at the radio station’s premises.
The Head of the crew, “Bright the Sport Surgeon” told Ebira Reporters that the event will mark the second sport competition to be sponsored by the station, adding that more are in the pipeline.
He also revealed that the station had held a table tennis and snooker competition on 15th July, 2017 with mass participation by professionals.
“Sport has become a part of our society, and it is only right that we help take it to the next level. This is our way of contributing to grassroot development and it will be a great moment of rediscovery,” he said.
