‎Kogi Patriotic Front(KPF) has resolved to institute a court action challenging the glaring forgery of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate primary result that Senator Isaac Alfa relied on to secure an earlier victory at the Federal High Court in May 2016.
According to the group, the senate primary form submitted at Federal High Court, Abuja was forged.
The spokesperson of the group, Abdulhamid Nuhu claimed that the form 0000027 submitted by Alfa as authentic result of 2015 Kogi East PDP primaries was meant for House of Representatives primaries. He argued that the authentic document for the Senate primaries held in Idah is form 0000035/37.
Abdulhamid said the glaringly forged document was relied upon by the High Court to rule in favour of Alfa last year and this “unfavourable judgement has led to a protracted legal tussle denying the people of Kogi East dividends of democracy”
“The forged document, with the connivance of some party leaders, was upon for the hurried secured victory by one of the PDP candidates, Air Marshal Isaac Alfa in May 2016. This prompted Senator Atai Aidoko Ali to appeal the judgement and got the earlier ruling upturned. Aidoko had since been sworn in as the authentic Senator to represent Kogi East”, he said.

Recall that May last year, the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, affirmed that the former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isaac Alfa (rtd), was the duly elected candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the primary election conducted for the Kogi-East Senatorial District.

Justice Nnamdi Dingba, while delivering a judgment, dismissed the motion filed by Senator Attai Aidoko.

However, the Appeal Court later ruled in Aidoko’s favour, sacking Alfa from the Senate. Alfa’s appeal at the Supreme Court failed as the apex court ordered re-trial at the High Court.
