The Chief Whip and Member representing Ajaokuta State Constituency, Hon. Sheikh Bello Hassan Abdullahi Balogun has been conferred with an outstanding service award of merit on Monday, 5th June,2017 as ‘Onizeiza ozi’ which means the truthful son by the UM Entertainment Group, Okene.
In an address by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Entertainment Group who is a veteran actor and comedian, Sadiq Aliyu Omeiza, he said the hunk Politician earned the honour as a result of his dedication, excellence and selfless service to his Constituents. He commended his courageous spirit for responding to the call to serve his people, and doing all that is needed for the wellbeing of Ajaokuta State Constituency. While describing him as a leader who has been committed to the welfare of the good people of Ajaokuta through various empowerment initiatives like drilling of boreholes, youth empowerment among others he said the Legislator is ‘An Ambassador of the New Direction Blue print of Governor Yahaya Bello’.
In his acceptance remark, Hon. Bello appreciated the group for the gesture, saying the zeal to develop Ajaokuta State Constituency will not be achieved without the enabling environment provided by Governor Yahaya Bello, who he said, has really brought on board a unique governance style that has been able to put the State on a better and more purposeful developmental plain. He then pledged his support to the growth of the entertainment industry alongside other purposeful industries in the State geared towards empowering the citizens.
In a short speech, the Member representing Ankpa II State Constituency, Hon. Alfa Momoh Rabiu while commending the awardee for a well deserved recognition stated that ‘it is one thing to be opportuned, and it’s another thing to make use of it’. He enjoined all members of the Assembly, including himself not to waver in living up to the expectation of the people now that the opportunity has provided itself.
