Kogi State, a state in the Central North of the country (Nigeria), is facing a lot of problems and the good people of the state, the average individuals of the state (Kogians) are suffering from various degrees of sufferings, which cut across all social, economic and political life of the people.
The purpose of communication is to make meaning and once you can deduce meaning from this piece, please! I am begging you, please! I am pleading to you, forget about the fact that the post is not enthusiastic and that the author is not an enthusiast.
Kogi State is now being referred to as a state that belongs to relatively few people and a mafia. So sad, in kogi state you will see comrades & come and raids, activists and self-acclaimed activists clamoring for change, for a better society, for better social welfare and a better Kogi for the purpose and benefit of kogi and for the benefit of a privileged few respectively.
Kudos! To those who have taken from their precious and limited times to write on kogi state sufferings, people who believe in the fact that the public right to know supersedes the interests of those that don’t want free flow of information, in spite of the fact that, you are not seeing positive changes, please don’t be tired for whatever reason.
Some people have manifested mental fears in the mind of people that whenever they hear bad thing about them, they say, “ehm! Leave those ones o, hmmm, there is nothing we can do jare.”
They have come to illogical conclusions that there is nothing they can do to change and liberate the state.
There is no power that pass God, though, I believe there are secret powers too, (Devil, Jinns, Witches, Wizards and others) but, darkness cannot surpass light forever, unless the people continue to do nothing.
In Kogi state, you now see prayers organized for politics and politicians, some citizens even wish these people death, I do not wish anyone death, because no religion preaches or encourages that, it is immoral, unethical, illegal and it is manifested in the constitution that… “Every person has a right to life, and no one shall be deprive intentionally of his life…” (Section 33 (1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria).
You cannot fight spiritual power with physical power, because “power pass power”. I have come to realize that in Kogi state, you cannot achieve anything by being a radical; I have learnt to act like a liberalist and that is what being an activist in Kwara state demands.
To the radicals, if you are found of chanting “We No Go Gree”, commenting bad against the mafia, of the greatest Nigeria Students or writing harshly on these issues, you may not live to sleep ot sleep and not live to wake up. Such a sorry situation we find ourselves in this state. As the Igala adage has rightly said, ‘Edor eje chogwu enwu du’, meaning ‘Patience is a great virtue’.
The power of prayer cannot be overemphasized; we need to engage in fervent prayers day and night. We need to engage in fervent fasting. I swear, if someone engage in his devilish acts or incantation and against the prayer of the general public, definitely, s/he will be disappointed as her/his aim & objectives will be defeated.
It is time we do away with tribal, political and religion sentiments, and pray in the best ways we can for the state so that we shall be delivered from this bondage of slavery.
