The report of the long awaited  Staff Screening  Appeal  Exercise has been submitted to the Kogi State Governor.
It would be recalled that  the 32-man committee was inaugurated on 23rd January, 2017 to look into the cases of workers whose names appeared on uncleared list and those whose names were omitted from the list.
The committee which was given six weeks to conclude the screening and submit its reports, had three extra weeks to bring the submission of reports to 24th April.
While receiving the report, the governor applauded the committee for a job well done, assuring immediate perusal of the report for reactions and feedback.

In response to the report submission, Chairman Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Onu Edoka said a new Kogi State civil service is born with the just concluded staff verification exercise. He noted that the outcome of the exercise will make all Kogites proud.

“This screening exercise this time around has taken different dimension. Your Excellency, I am the happiest person today that this screening has come to an end. This is the only area your government has attracted large public criticism, you are doing well in security, road construction and other areas, but Your Excellency, Kogi civil servants have suffered for long time in the course of this screening. I want to hear from you today that all those who have been cleared are immediately backed up by payments”, he said.

Reacting to the statement that state civil servants have not been paid for as many months as 14, the governor said; The government is going to publish the name of workers that have been paid since my administration, month by month, worker by worker for everybody to see. All these facts will be uploaded on the state website this evening and print media.
