The Majority Leader, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole has called on leaders and stakeholders in the All Progressive Congress (APC) to support Governor Yahaya Bello.
According to a press release signed by his media assistant, Abel Julius, the lawmaker made the call while meeting with Kabba-Bunu APC executive members.
In his address and opening remark, Kokawole thanked Kabba-Bunu APC for accepting him into the APC fold. He reiterated that the main reason of his decamping is to bring home the dividends of democracy and to make APC in Kabba-Bunu stronger.
He also admonished them to erase the mind set of divisive politics in Kogi State APC in order to be in a good standing for political dividends as it unfolds and to also support the Government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as he is at the helm of affairs in Kogi of today as destined by God.
The Majority Leader told the party stalwarts that the success of the party lies with everybody. Stating that anything grievance within the party shall be resolved and he will personally look into it by setting up a committee and every grudges shall be resolved.
“I am here to serve you in my capacity as the Majority Leader and Honourable member representing Kabba-Bunu Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly. I am also here so you can send me to the Governor and I shall deliver accordingly”.
The party executives, in their response welcomed Hon. Kolawole to APC and assured him of their support to him and the New Direction Administration.
Some of the party executives made known their complaints and worries to the Majority Leader that needed the intervention of the State Government.
In response, Hon. Kolawole said he feels the heat of their pains personally and assured them that the Governor is feeling same and even worse but it is one which everyone must bear.
“The pains we suffer now is due to the rot in our system which we must fight together now if we don’t want to suffer greater pain in the future. The overhauling going on is to save Kogi State from collapse, the State Government is almost through with the overhauling especially as regards workers screening and very soon we would all enjoy it together. It is your duty to convince others out there and make them know that Governor Yahaya Bello genuinely loves his people ”, he said.
