Governor Yahaya Bello is without doubt an absentee governor who is though physically present but not in touch with the reality on the ground. His is a clear case of a breadwinner who has surrendered his entire household to strangers, yet still brags about his breadwinner status.

The Edward Onoja Syndrome

That everything about the Yahaya Bello administration bears a semblance of fraud, nepotism, pettiness and grand corruption is to rehearse what has become common knowledge among Kogites.

It is indeed worrisome that people who know little or nothing next to governance are the characters presently presiding over the affairs of Kogi citizens today.

Unfortunately, Governor Yahaya Bello who claims to be a digital governor is so daft and dumb that he is unaware  and nepotic tendencies of his Chief of Staff, Edward Onoja.

Governor Bello is without doubt an absentee governor who is though physically present but not in touch with the reality on the ground. His is a clear case of a breadwinner who has surrendered his entire household to strangers, yet still brags about his breadwinner status.

I doubt if Governor Bello is aware of the modus operandi employed by Edward Onoja in making apointments in the state. Does he know the background of most of his appointees? I doubt it.

To begin with, Victor Okee, the Director of Protocol to the Deputy Governor of Kogi state is Edward Onoja’s brother inlaw. Victor has same parents with Mercy, Edward Onoja’s wife.

Also, Mercy Edward Onoja, wife to Mr Onoja is a Special Adviser to to the First of Kogi state, Rashida Bello. What could be more nepotistic than this?

Does Yahaya Bello also know that all the LGA Administrators in Kogi state make monthly financial returns to Edward Onoja? Does Bello also know that Edward is working hard to warm himself into the hearts of the Igalas ahead of the 2019 elections?

Sadly, while Bello boastfully move around like a drunken sailor claiming to be incharge of governance in the state, characters like Edward Onoja and his minions are busy looting the state dry and swimming in affluence.

Mr Bello is everything a leader worth his name shouldn’t be. He’s a weakling who is not fit to even be in charge of a class in a primary school. It is sad and worrisome.

We must rise against Edward Onoja and his cronies. A close mouth is a closed destiny. Kogi state is moving in a very wrong direction.
