Almost two months after the abduction of Hajiya Amina Zuber in Okehi local government area of Kogi state, her family is getting more apprehensive over her health condition in the hands of her kidnappers as efforts to secure her release failed to yield results.

The family source who spoke to us said the 75-year-old woman was abducted some days after she was discharged from hospital and was concerned that the situation may deteriorate as her abductors refused to release her even after an offer of N2million ransom.

The source said she was abducted a day before Eid-el-Kabir (September 9, 2016), and since then efforts to secure her freedom were fruitless as the family failed to meet up with the demands of the kidnappers.

Barr. Salihu Momoh told our reporter that the kidnappers initially demanded for N40million as ransom before they finally settled at N15million and have since refused to shift grounds to pave way for the release of the aged woman.

He said one of the woman’s sons who was a retired civil servant had offered to pay N2million but the kidnappers declined the offer and continue to hold her hostage in spite of her health condition.

He recalled that the kidnappers who had on October 10th linked up the kidnapped woman on phone to speak with her son to allay the fears of the family, however ‘’warned the family to stop relating with the police over the matter saying they work in collaboration’’.

We however learnt that not less than four persons have so far been arrested by the Kogi state police command in relations to the case.
