The Kogi state Commissioner for Finance and chairman Kogi state Economic team, Alhaji Asiwaju Idris Asiru has assured the people of kogi state that no part of the state will be discriminated against in Governor Yahaya Bello’s strategic development of the state.
Speaking in his office when Okun Leaders visited him, Asiwaju said Governor Bello is a father of all, irrespective of the different political leanings of the people.
He noted that the all-encompassing development will be felt across Kogi State as every community will feel the impact of quality governance of Governor Yahaya Bello.
He said, “the entire Kogi State is Governor Bello’s constituency. He is the governor of everybody in the state. Therefore, he will work towards enhancing development in all parts of the state.”
The Finance Commissioner said though the government inherited unpaid salaries, pensions and backlog of financial commitments, the governor placed the state on the path of growth.
He said the completion of critical ongoing projects will continue to improve the living condition of the people.
In his remarks, the leader of the delegation Engineer Olanrewaju Adeshina commended Governor Bello for his numerous development projects, stressing that the projects must be sustained all through his tenure.
Engr Olarewaju commended and appreciate Governor Yahaya Bello for his choices of Okun sons and daughters appointed into his cabinet especially the choice of Honourable Asiwaju Idris Asiru, Commissioner for Finance who he said is representing Okun Nation well. He also urged the governor to develop alternative sources of wealth for the state by expanding agriculture and tourism. He commended the governor on his fight against the menace of arm robbery and kidnapping; as this will attract more investors and visitors to the state.
He said that there were states that are inclined to specific individuals, as such no matter the number of elections conducted, such individuals will emerge victorious. He noted that Kogi State is one of such state, pointing out that there is no reason why the political class should distract a performing governor.
