The Kogi State Police Command on Friday, said it had smashed suspected kidnapping syndicate leading to the rescue of the abducted three students of Kogi State Polytechnic while two kidnappers were arrested.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu disclosed this while parading 23 other suspects, including the abductors of the students, stating that the state command was determined to flush out the criminals elements from the state.
Ojukwu added that the three students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Musa Avosuahi Sefiat, Isaac Oaikhena and Ojo Ayodele who were abducted at the Osara campus during a night vigil.
He stated that the students were rescued through intelligence report that the three abducted students were being holed up in a hideout along Gadabiu -Kabba Junction, Obajana road saying they were released without paying ransom.
The Commissioner stated that one suspect, Ibrahim Jibo was arrested at the point of collecting the ransom, stressing that he was already assisting the police to apprehend others now at large, noting that investigation was still in progress.
Those paraded for various offences includes 13 armed robbery suspects arrested at different locations in the state, Juli Sheidu, Muhammadu Sule, James Adaje, Godwin Ekeji, Yalabu Usman,Musa Dalisu, Monday Adejoh, Emmanuel Sunday, Sesan Bolorunduro, Deola Adekunle, David Sesan and Muyiwa Ekundayo.

Also paraded were Ojo Alih, Ojo Sunday for manufacturing firearms while Abdullahi Haruna, Aminu Omale, Elias Onade, Yunusa Godday, Christopher Emmanuel, Onalo Egbunu, Umoru Isah, Achor Hassan were arrest for thuggery activities.
Ojukwu pointed out that all the suspects would be prosecuted while restating, the command’s resolve to wipe out criminals from the state.
