The Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Frontier has noted that Tuesday’s landmark Flag off ceremony in Anyigba by peoples’ Governor Captain Idris Wada, the overwhelming support shown by good people of Kogi state and catalogue of unprecedented verifiable achievements marshalled out have thrown the Abubakar Audu campaigns into confusion.
PDP Group National Youth leader in a statement on Wednesday said the Audu campaign organisation in their “characteristic manner, instead of accepting the successes already acknowledged by Kogites, went into their usual mischievous propaganda in a failed attempt to score a cheap political point by posting the pictures of flood that characterize the entire Riverland Nation as a result of Water released from Lado dam in Cameron as Wada failure.
The youth leader said such campaigns strategy by the Audu groups defies the logic of an alternative while exposing it as hypocritical. “We therefore call for objectivity and forthrightness from the political class, especially the Audu campaign organisation as the campaigns for the November 21st Kogi State Gubernatorial elections begin in earnest.
The youth leader berated the Audu campaign organisation for always seeking to gain political capital from the flood challenges in the nation adding that “Kogites by their massive support on Tuesday showed that they know the truth and are solidly behind their Governor, Captain Idris Ichalla Wada”
“The entire top hierarchy of the state PDP, leaders even top National Executive were in attendance this shows the unity in PDP even after primary and shows that Wada is generally accepted
“No doubt, it is easy to deduce that the Audu campaigns organisation was stunned by the mammoth crowd that turned out for the event and indeed unsettled by the unity existing in the PDP even in the wake of primary for the election of candidates . Too bad! There is nothing Audu campaign organisation can do about this! Nonetheless, we wish to restate our position on issue based campaigns while challenging the Audu and his team once more to match our pace with positive ideas.
The PDP YOUTH FRONTIER restated that Governor Wada remains the candidate to beat as he enjoys a very strong bond with the people of Kogi State in all the nooks and crannies. This it said is as a result of his exceptional performance in last three and half years not withstanding the spirited efforts by the Audu campaign organisation to distract, detract and frustrate his administration by giving it a bad name.
“Indeed, no amount of propaganda and negative campaign can take away the freedom Kogites now enjoy under Wada administration. The repositioning of the state civil servants dignity, paying Pensioners as at when due, upgrading the health sector, the thriving of the private sector in all areas of the economy, the unprecedented but silent revolution in agriculture, education, communication, health sectors, all for which our dear state now ranks as the most peaceful state in Nigeria.
