The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, has declared that he will defeat Governor Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and emerge victorious at the November 21 governorship election in the state.

Ahead of the PDP primary billed to hold on 10th September, the Prince Abubakar Audu Campaign Organisation (PAAC) dismissed any threat posed to its governorship candidate by the duo of the PDP aspirants, the incumbent governor, Wada and Isah Jibrin Echocho in the poll.

Addressing journalists at the State Secretariat of the party in Lokoja at the weekend, the director general of PAAC, Comrade Dan Isah, said even where PDP’s frontline contenders, Gov Wada and Jibrin Echocho, present a unified candidacy, Prince Audu would defeat them both.

He said, “We are today serving notice to the ruling PDP in the state to expect a crushing defeat   at the polls. In view of our confidence, preparedness and the popularity of our candidate and the party, we declare that the PDP can put forth its two frontline aspirants in one bunch, namely Governor Wada and Jibrin Echocho joint governorship candidates, we shall triumph over them.

“We are confident that Prince Audu, as our candidate, is primed to win the November governorship   election based on his popularity deriving from his consistency, forthrightness and steadfastness to   the Kogi project coupled with his past record of verifiable achievements.”

Isah added that the APC as a party is united for the forthcoming governorship election in the   state to rescue Kogi people from the present mess created by the visionless PDP in the last 12 years.

According to him, the state is in a dire situation that needs an experienced man like Prince Audu   who has been tested and trusted.

Prince Audu emerged defeated other 27 aspirants with 1109 votes to emerge the APC candidate in the   primary election conducted in the state and chaired by the Executive governor of Kaduna State, Mall. Nasir El rufai on the August 29.
