We Will Reject Shoddy Jobs, Kogi Govt Warns MDG Contractors

Kogi state government has warned contractors handling the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) contracts in the state not to compromise standard as project done below standard shall be rejected.

The Special Adviser on MDGs to the governor of the state, Hon Haliru Ali Abdul made the statement while supervising some of the MDGs projects currently ongoing in the state.

While commending the contractor on the quality of project executed at the 8-man quarters in Dekina, the Special Adviser frown at the contractor handling one of the scheme’s projects in Idah Local Government Area.

He said the state government is doing all to ensure that people in the rural areas get the best of basic facilities that, any contractor who, in his/her selfish mind in order to make maximum profit attempted to handover poor jobs to the beneficial communities would have such jobs rejected by the government.

At the ultramodern hospital Anyigba, Hon Haliru appealed to the community to help maintain all government facilities in their locality for maximum utilization.

Earlier, the occupants of the 8-man quarters in Dekina thanked the government for addressing the accommodation problem faced by the workers in the past, stressing that the accommodation provided has enhanced effectiveness and prompt response to emergency cases as they are now living close to the hospital.
