The National leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) has overruled the disqualification of the major contender for Kogi West Senate Seat, Honourable Samuel Bamidele Aro, and cleared him to contest for the party’s ticket in the forthcoming primaries.

Sam Aro, who was a one-time member of the House of Representatives, was surprisingly disqualified by the Barrister Davidson Oputeh-led screening committee in Kogi State citing the pending court case instituted against him by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The resolute politician challenged his non-clearance by filing an appeal through his lawyers.

We reliably gathered top party leaders waded into the issue of his non-clearance on allegations of sabotage from external forces who sees Sam Aro as a threat to the party’s chances of retaining the senate seat in the zone. The concerned national leaders wondered why a party that needs strong contenders to actualize its ‘change initiative’ will be sending a strong politician like Sam Aro away.

All is now set for the senate primaries in Kogi West which will be a tough contest between Sam Aro, indefatigable Otunba Dino Melaye and Hon Abidemi Adeyemi.
