Irked by alleged endorsement of a candidate for Idah, Ibaji, Ofu, Igalamela/ Odolu Federal Constituency for the 2015 House of Representatives election in Kogi State, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Alhaji Hassan Salau, yesterday described the allegation as untrue.

Salau, who said this at the party’s secretariat in Lokoja, during the presentation of vehicles to party officials by the lawmaker representating Idah, Ofu, Igalamela/ Odolu, Hon. Sumaila Inna Hussein, said he was misunderstood by the fabricators of the story.

The party chairman was alleged to have endorsed the secretary for the Idah-Ofu-Ibaji-Igalamela federal constituency ticket. Salau, who promised that the primary election will be free and fair, added that it will be wrong for politicians to engage in activities that will encourage violence, stressing also that PDP has zero-tolerance for thuggery and other political vices.

The chairman, who commended Hussein for donating vehicles to the party, also warned politicians, especially PDP aspirants to pursue their ambition with decorum, pointing out that the party has no anointed candidate for any positions.

“We want you to emulate Hussein for remembering the party and his supporters, and I am calling on the political office holders to emulate him,” he stated.
