Yakubu, a senior aide to the Senator said: “In the course of our campaign in 2011, the Senator promised the people of Upake three things – water, health centre and road. So far he has delivered in the area of water and health. Currently, he is making very frantic effort to see to the construction of the Upake road to make life much more tolerable for the people who were never taken into account by past leaders of the central senatorial district of Kogi State. This health centre will certainly ease the previous challenges faced by the people and drastically improve the quality of their lives, as they will no longer have to go through pain travelling to Ajaokuta town, a distance of about 30km coupled with the terribly bad road when they need to seek for medical attention.”

Thanking the Senator on behalf of the people, the traditional ruler of the area, HRH Ibrahim Eneyiye, the Anayuwa of Upake, expressed joy over the nice gesture of the political leader of Kogi Central towards the people of his domain.

Eneyiye disclosed that “In the history of Upake, no politician has ever given us attention like Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman. We were never cared for. They don’t even know whether we exist. Today, we see Senator Deen as God-sent. We thank him for remembering us and including Upake in the scheme of things. When he gave us water we thought that was the end. We will remain eternally grateful to him for this kind gesture because we have suffered a lot in search of medical treatment for our people.”
