I commend the giant stride of the Honourable Minister of Petroleum and her selfless service to her fatherland. The Nigerian oil and gas sector under the competent supervision of Mrs. Diazeni Alison Madueke has witnessed a wave of activities and performance level which have placed the industry on a renewed path of growth and sustained development. The minister has transformed our oil and gas sector to a globally acceptable standard to the admiration of everybody which is indeed worthy of our commendation.
Some of the major achievements of the petroleum ministry under her watchful eye include;
Revamped and Rehabilitated previous Non-functioning petroleum product Deport and pipelines including; The Benin deport, Warri Benin pipeline; Enugu, Gombe and Port Harcourt Deport and restore product supply to facilities. Total rebuilt of the burnt down Okirika product loading Arm and Jetty.
Engineered the comprehensive re-draft of the petroleum industry bill (BPI) that is currently undergoing legislative process in the National Assembly and when passed into law shall be the first of its kind in terms of coverage and sweeping reforms.
Completed over 307KM of critical backbone pipeline infrastructure which includes; Itoki-Olorunshogo,. Escravos-warri-Oben, Imo River-Alaoji and Oben-Geregegu.
Kicked off 1,860KM of ongoing gas pipeline infrastructure comprising: Oben-Lagos, Obiafo-Obrikom-Oben (0B3) and Calabar-Ajaokuta-Kano.
Commenced Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) of the 850MCF/D gas processing facility to support domestic supply of gas to power the Ogidigben Industrial park.
Initiated a critical gas flare-down campaign which in 12 years has seen gas flaring reduced by 20% to an approximate 16.7%of produced gas.
Maximize local value addition by encouraging the manufacturing of equipment component and parts in the country in furtherance of the Nigeria content Act 2010.
Successfully introduced compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to Nigeria with over 2500 taxi cabs now running in Benin City and many more being converted daily.
Celebrated NLG’s export of its 3000th Cargo.
This and many more that space will not permit us to mention are the far reaching achievements of the ministry of petroleum under the able leadership of Mrs. Diezani Alison Madueke. In view of this landmark success in our oil and gas sector, it is no magnification to say that we have a round peg in a round hole in the ministry.
We want to use this opportunity to commend Mr. President for bringing on board men and woman of integrity and charisma to help drive the process of transforming Nigeria. We urge Nigerians to continue to support Mrs. Diazeni Alison Madueke in her quest to move the petroleum industry to an enviable height and equally appeal to the amazon of our oil industry not to be distracted by enemies of Transformation Agenda that want to bring her down at all cost
